Event recap: Cus­tom­er-first focus in a chan­ging busi­ness envir­on­ment

On Fri­day 30th Septem­ber, KPMG Crim­son­wing held an event titled Cus­tom­er-first focus in a chan­ging busi­ness envir­on­ment’ at Cor­inthia Hotel in front of around 30 people com­ing from dif­fer­ent indus­tries. The event opened with a small speech from our Dir­ect­or Steph­en Abela dur­ing which he high­lighted what KPMG Crim­son­wing does and how it is now posi­tioned in the ever-grow­ing IT mar­ket.

Peter van den Berg took the stage next and he delivered an excel­lent key­note speech whereby he high­lighted the chal­lenges of the cur­rent busi­ness envir­on­ment and what com­pan­ies must do in order to remain rel­ev­ant. Dur­ing his deliv­ery, the inter­net of things was dis­cussed – an area that is cer­tainly affect­ing the major­ity of busi­nesses irre­spect­ive of their size and the industry they oper­ate in. To close off, Peter made ref­er­ence to the top 10 cus­tom­er trends and this lead to vari­ous dis­cus­sions with mem­bers of the audi­ence about their own real­it­ies.

Two sep­ar­ate demos of Microsoft Dynam­ics CRM 2016 online were then delivered. The first one focused on the Sales, Mar­ket­ing and Cus­tom­er Ser­vice mod­ules of the plat­form and one aspect that got people talk­ing was Social Media Mar­ket­ing. Using Dynam­ics Mar­ket­ing, an organ­isa­tion is able to cre­ate mul­ti-chan­nel cam­paigns such as, emails and tra­di­tion­al media. These pro­grammes can be amp­li­fied by social media posts and the inter­est­ing part is the data that an organ­isa­tion is able to gather from the soft­ware. For instance, an organ­isa­tion is able to have cam­paign per­form­ance data split by dif­fer­ent geo­graph­ies. This can help com­pan­ies in their decisions of what offers to make to which mar­kets. The focus of the second demo was Pro­ject Ser­vices Auto­ma­tion which is an end-to-end solu­tion that provides a single sys­tem for cus­tom­er engage­ment, pro­ject sales, resourcing, deliv­ery and billing. It deliv­ers an out-of-the-box exper­i­ence with Microsoft pro­ductiv­ity applic­a­tions and machine learn­ing cap­ab­il­it­ies on your device of choice.

After the demos, the event con­cluded with a lunch, where a lot of thoughts and exper­i­ences were exchanged by attendees and this allowed for new con­nec­tions to be made. Clearly there was a lot of food for thought.
